About

I'm a single Christian who never expected to be single this long. I started Single and Sane in May of 2009 largely because I couldn't find much online for middle-aged single Christians, not counting the plethora of online dating sites...many of which came with their very own "ick" factor. (See the Humor tab for more about that.)

I thought there should be a place for both married and single to see that singleness is not a condition to be cured, but a life to be celebrated. I also thought there should be a place where singles in mid-life could find encouragement. But after just a few months of blogging, I realized that I was receiving encouragement myself, and from readers of all ages, both married and single.

One of my early objectives was to help make the church and singles alike more aware of the significant role that singles can play within the body of Christ. I still write about that from time to time, but most of the time I write about life in general, and the things that connect us, regardless of age or marital status. Sometimes I share something about my own faith and experiences, including my struggles to become more like Christ. Sometimes I write about current events, occasionally I'll share something that makes me laugh, and I often follow memes in an effort to avoid boring you. Whatever I write, it is my hope and my prayer that you will see Christ shining through on these pages.

I love feedback from readers! Feel free to comment on posts or email me directly at singleandsaneblog@gmail.com.
