We had far too much heat and too little rain, turning landscapes that would normally be alive with brilliant hues of orange and crimson into dull shades of taupe and brown.
Still, even when it seemed that the overall landscape was dreary, there were wonderful splashes of color to be found..
Sometimes God calls us to look at the big picture. Other times, He calls us to focus a little closer in order to see the details in His handiwork. And He reminds us that, no matter what, there is always beauty to be found.
Until next time,
Margaret
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end. ~ Ecclesiastes 3:11

ReplyDeletespectacular, the few colorful trees are especially brilliant!
i had fun trying to figure out where your trees are.
They look far brighter than I remember them ever looking, though I'm sure that I probably never saw your neighborhood. So I am delightfully surprised by the crimson and gold. And I'm surprised by that scripture because I didn't know it said that. I'm always surprised by God's Word.
ReplyDeleteLea - You've probably guessed them all correctly!
ReplyDeleteVee - We usually have brightly colored trees everywhere in the fall. This year the brightest trees are mainly in residential areas and even then, it depends on how willing the homeowners were to water over the summer. Between the heat and the cost, a lot of people gave up on trying to keep their lawns green. We've been spoiled so we're disappointed by the lack of color this year.
And yes, God's Word is full of surprises, no matter how well we think we know it!
What breathtakingly beautiful photographs!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Keith!
