Oh, My! I Wasn't Expecting Company!

Yikes! I didn't realize my guest post would be published at The Lady Bloggers today! I would have cleaned up around here if I had realized company might stop by.

Instead, I spent the weekend with family, shopped with my mom, got to see my nephew who decided to come for a visit at the last minute, went to a cookout, and cleaned house. I went into work for a couple of hours on the 4th to get some things done because I'll start my vacation later this week. I even took advantage of the long weekend to waste time work on my new house in Yoville. I did almost everything I had planned to do this weekend except straighten up my blog. Wouldn't you know it?

Oh, well. Please feel free to look around, and make yourself comfortable.

And in a couple of weeks, after my vacation, I'm going to fix the masthead (which was sized for another template)...and add pages...and do all the blog-related things I thought I might get to this weekend. Sigh.

Enjoy your visit, and thanks for stopping by!
Margaret

  3. The girl on your masthead reminds me of Nancy Drew - very cute :-) (Although of course I'm looking forward to the new version! I'm a big fan of beautiful yet easy to read layouts) --- Thanks for the Lady Bloggers tip - it's great to find another single chick!

  4. Enjoyed your guest post this morning. And your masthead looks fine -- no one would ever have noticed if you hadn't mentioned it! We're all worried about how our own houses -- and blogs -- stand up to scrutiny.

  9. Thanks to everyone for taking time to comment. I won't be able to take part in this weekend's tea party social, but I already know I'll be visiting you all over the next few socials!

  10. I'm visiting from Lady Bloggers!

I like your blog and your header is very retro. Maybe you could resize it on Photoshop? The new Blogger templates let you change the size of the blog. I think they're great.

I like most of the same musicians that you do, especially Linda Ronstadt. :)

  11. just came from your guest post over at the LBS... I loved EVERY word you wrote. I hate it when people come for tea but don't behave. I have a little Caption Linky on my blog for Wordless Wednesday (Everyday Mommy blog) and people will link up without following the directions ... really annoys me. If I don't have time to do what is asked I don't link up.

RE: your blog re-do I did both of my blogs with the new templates and have been very happy!

Thanks again for your frank tea party comments! I'm following you now!

  12. I was looking for a retro picture of some kind when I ran across the Nancy Drew-like character and decided that was exactly what I was after. (Shayna - I never noticed she looks like Nancy before, but you're right!) I did it Photoshop, so when I can find the time, I'll resize it to fit.

And NJ Memories - If Jerry Brown can run for Governor of California again, surely Linda's due for a big comeback of her own. =)

And thanks to all of you who agreed with the LB post on tea party etiquette. I had second thoughts after I submitted it, so I'm relieved to know others were thinking the same thing!

I feel awful that I haven't had time to visit all of your blogs yet, but after my vacation, I'll come by to visit all of you!
